What Kind of World was America When You Were Growing: Before the Shock of Obama.?

Since Obama showed up, I have spent most days in varying states of shock. Shocked because Obama and the Democrats, the political and powerful ones at least, have codes and methods that seem so foreign; That are in many cases, nearly the antithesis of the codes of conduct, and acceptable norms of good character that I've been taught and surrounded by for much of my life. With Obama's White House, and the Democrats in Congress led by Harry Reed, the absurd has been the norm, and played out for those who watch, continuously, by players who show no guilt, and carry out their absurdities like there isn't, and was never, any other ways of being.

In the America where I grew up:

  • We did not discern how  to act or what course to take, based on how much propaganda could be created as a result, or how much the blow-back could be covered up.
  • You weren't off the hook just because a smoking gun wasn't provided as proof to something wrong we did. Just people knowing we did something wrong, absolute proof or not, was enough: unlike the  Obama world, we didn't insult others by not giving them credit for knowing the truth. That is an additional wrong on top of wrong. More deceiving and lying on top of lies. Actually, in the America I thought more of us shared, we generally didn't do wrong because just ourselves would know it. There was value and importants, in being a good person. An honest person who didn't cheat people, and didn't gain advantage just because we could, or especially didn't because we could.
  • The qualities and requirements for brilliance or genius were much higher, near impossible.  The ability to inspire women to faint at the sight and sound of you, was about as impossible. Winning the Nobel Peace Prise was unimaginable; people like Mother Teresa won that thing, and nobody was like her.
  • There was pride in being responsible, in doing something right, and in doing right by others - especially when it didn't serve oneself, or nobody would ever know if you didn't. We could trust each other behind a thousand closed door, and know our neighbors and friends and family, would do the right thing. I knew I would be represented, behind those doors, Democrat or Conservative, in their hearts, conscience and belief that inner character - doing the right thing- being and not just appearing to be a good person, was everything. Or, at least the most important thing. If one was a cheat, liar or scoundrel; if one was unfair, dishonest, underhanded, self serving. Then one would have to go through life in this human body, this container of a person, that was crap. One would have to live being thought of as a cheat or liar, thinking of oneself as underhanded and bad. Shit character spoils everything, no-matter how impressive of thing one might have.
  • In our America, we weren't perfect. Not even close. But we did one thing that is absent in the white house. That is most important. Something that I never see from any Democrat politician. Apologizing. We felt bad and we apologize when we did wrong - even when we just made a mistake while meaning to do right - we apologized and recognized that we were wrong or mistaken. This was very important. A way to stay humble, and open to learning and growing. Showing the willingness and capability of improving or adapting.  And, saying sorry was sometimes the only way to address the sadness we felt, the empathy, seeing others hurt because of us; we apologized because sometimes we harmed, hurt,  those we where supposed to do right by, who trusted we'd not harm them.
  • Once upon a time in America, if someone behaved 1/100th as shady as Obama and friends, they would have zero respect from anyone who could see their game;  and once upon a time, when people were honest, most could identify a lie and a liar, pretty damn easily. What happened to that ability? I don't know, but part of my daily shock, has to do with the fact that so few can see the obvious dubiousness, or at least so few are bothered by, dishonesty so blatant that  it seems almost mockingly,  this absurdity performed   by  Obama , Hillary and the rest of the leftist governing family.
I didn't know until Obama came along, how different the world of America must have been for many. Those that support Obama and Hillary, must have come from some kind of fucked up world, to be so comfortable with the Obama government's complete absence of honesty. No smoking gun found. If it looks okay, or at least nobody can prove 100% you did anything wrong, that shall be the gage as to what is fine to do. No doubt a person unaccountable to themselves, is a very small and potentially very dangerous person. Of course a tea party member is going to look like a holy rolling, simple minded, conservative zelot, from the perspective of the type of citizen who has a bar so low, that they respect and look up to people like Obama and Hillary. To a person who cannot identify a single thing reprehensible about these two, and who actually admire everything they do, the patriots of America who grew up in a world anything like the one I describe, must come across incomprehensible.

I know

Hey, I realize I'm very inconvenient for you all and people like Obama. A person so straight forward and honest, who also possesses such formidable intelligence and irrefutable education, is bound to be a thorn in the ass of most anyone who's doing wrong and wishing to manipulate the perceptions of others about it. But, too bad. With me, your smarmy, leftist argument tricks and handbook-semantical gotchas are like baby-coos.

Obama, whatever religion, is a Jew hater, terrorist sympathizer; a scoundrel with the temerity to fain the least pro-Israel support - out the side of his mouth - that he can get away with, while thinking people so stupid, that they'll not perceive the presence and nature of his obvious, actual, support for the Muslim terrorists involved in this current conflict. (as if his allegiance as a whole, is not transparent, where Obama identifies with the whole of Islam over Israel.

Authentic intentions are followed, not promised. Real action is done not recounted; Honest men do, not say.

I don't care how many adoring zombies are bamboozled, nor how many degrees of slick Obama and you like him employ, I know it is bullshit; I know Obama is a liar and disgrace. And, I know you are a fool if you don't see the same.

A sincere discussion and question for all: Is it just that the end justifies the means, or why is it that Democrats seem to not be troubled by blatant, indisputable, dishonesty when it is pointed out to them?

One of the most curious things about Democrats and Progressives, is how they seem unfazed or concerned by any degree of dishonesty one might point out to them. I don't care what party I find myself in; if someone with influence is covering up, deceiving, manipulating, fooling, conning, vote buying, poll manipulating, conspiring, or just straight up lying - It concerns me. Dishonesty is wrong. If you are having to behave dishonestly, or find yourself un-bothered by dishonesty from those supposedly "on your side," then you've got your self a super duper, pregnant, sign that you are on the wrong side; You've got yourself a hand written invitation to do some soul searching to make sure that you haven't set aside some essential ideals - in your effort to satisfy your party's political and social "ideals de jour." Does your social justice seeking, politically correct, bleeding-heart-globalist, gay friendly, illegal immigrant adopting, Islam appeasing, America-last related goals and victories mean much, if everybody has to discard honesty, fair play, morals and truth - where perhaps just being a good person becomes a casualty of means justified by less profound ends?

When I see the left, almost as a rule, unconcerned and dismissive about glaring violations of honesty and ethics committed by those they support....
  • What of Charles Rangel, Alen Grayson, Barney Frank, Harry Reid, Tim Gheitner, Chriss Dodd, Eric Holder..... the list goes on forever of Democrats that you and I both know, are dishonest and unethical - even down right crooked. Don't bother denying it and I won't bother insulting your intelligence by believing that you don't know full well that these guys are dishonest.
  • What about the dozens of reports we're hearing of voter fraud by the left? Are every single one of the reports false; or, does voter fraud and corrupt elections jive with your ideals and morality? Perhaps just a few fixed elections are okay, but only because the rules and policies that the extra votes will bring about - are just so great that it's worth it?
  • What about Erica Holder denying all in response to the two credible, senior attorneys that have both come forth claiming that Eric Holder has established a policy where only crimes committed by white people will be prosecuted. Does it bother you that, if these claims are true, then Eric Holder is lying through his teeth and deceiving the public - - in addition to committing some hefty discrimination related crimes. If this doesn't rock your boat either - is it because it's not that big of deal if the attorney general is lying and making racial discrimination federal policy? or, are you not bothered because you don't believe a bit of it - and, this story is 100% untrue and made up just like the voter fraud stories - and the rest of allegations ever brought for about the left?
  • What about Obama saying health care cost wouldn't go up - and, we would get to keep our doctors, and it wouldn't be a tax? These statements to the American citizens were not the truth; and, after claiming it wasn't a tax in order to get the votes to pass health care, the Obama team now insists that it is a tax because that's the only way to pass it off as constitutional during the court battles currently going on. Does this bother you? Or, do you think it's okay that the lies were told, because of how important it was to nationalize health care? Or?
  • What about Obama having the entirety of his past school records sealed - and how he has spent over 5 million dollars hiring lawyers to prevent and disclosure? I agree that a President shouldn't necessarily have to make everything public and not have the right to keep some personal stuff private. Fair enough; but, does it not concern you at all - that Obama will disclose no records at all and that he continues to put so much effort and money into preventing disclosure? Does that bother you at all? Does it seem at all dishonest, or at least, disconcertingly secretive? If not, is it because why? Is it because the transformations that Obama is achieving are so great, that it doesn't really matter if he's lied about his past or not - or if there be any kind of skeleton in those records, or not? Or, is it, again, that you don't believe a bit of it - and that he has all of his records online and the sealed documents, the law suits, - all of it made up by opposition just like the "birther" BS?
In your responses, I'm curious to better understand why Democrats and Progressives seem disinterested and unconcerned with particular reports and allegations of dishonest and unethical behavior - that seem to me to be very troubling. Troubling, not only because of possible deception or harm against the Citizens that might result; troubling also because of how bad of people some people are - if any of it is true. And, troubling that people think such dishonesty and bad character is acceptable and not totally despicable, shameful, infuriating and wrong. What is it? Is it no big deal if it ever becomes the case where most every official and leader is totally untrustworthy and corrupt? or if everybody is pretty much manipulative and untrustworthy because, we are all justifying the means by our own desired ends? Do you think we should just grow away from the concept of universal truths and get past the outdated notion that goodness caries any distinctively divine importance - stop thinking that being a good person is any kind of universal point - where being good should be our universal or even standard goal in life.

So, which is it for you?

1. The ends justify the means.
2. The reports are all lies. If any were true I would be bothered and concerned.
3. I don't think goodness or honesty is all that important so I don't really care if someone is honest and ethical or not.
4. It's something else that you are missing which I'll explain with my comment post..
