I find it curious how one group of Americans have a positive view of President Obama while another regards him to be a horrible president and bad for the country. What could possibly explain how presumably decent and rational people can have such a different perspective?
I think this divide can be explained by a difference in perspective. Going from left to right, what sort of perspective could explain the positive opinions that many on the left seem to have towards Obama. I can only see Obama as a good thing if I think about him and his actions as being in a vacuum and take America out of the scenario. Now I can look at spending money on social reforms as a pretty humanitarian act. Likewise, reforming health care so that everybody can have it, sounds pretty compassionate too. Even the way that Obama bows to foreign leaders almost seems to have a bit of charm in it's humility. This perspective requires that the focus be limited to Obama.
Obama critics are not judging Obama in a vacuum. They are viewing Obama in the context of America. He was elected as the country's leader, so it seems very relevant that Obama's performance is measured in terms of how it effects America.
Say, for example, you own a one of a kind Rolls Royce automobile and it is your prize possession - for which you sacrificed for decades working in order to afford. This car is in perfect mint condition with it's original pearl white paint job. Suppose you hire a driver for this car and on his first day on the job, after dropping you off at an appointment, the driver goes and gets the car painted black - his favorite color. If we just consider the driver in a vacuum, then there isn't much to blame. A driver's favorite color is black and he gets the car he's driving painted black. Obama supporters are looking at you, the irate owner of the car, wondering why the hell you have a problem with the color black - accusing you of of having some sort of problem with the color even. What's being discounted is the car - the focus is on the driver and not the car - which is the whole reason why the driver was hired in the first place - the whole reason that he's even a driver.
We hired Obama to drive and take care of a country with a culture, philosophy, and ideals already colored in. It's not really about what colors Obama is painting - it's that he is painting over the prize possession that we hired him to protect. We don't elect a president to invent us some new country. If we all had just migrated to the moon and needed a country found, then we might hire or elect someone to follow his vision of the perfect country and invent one for us - create a constitution.
Since Obama was elected to be President of America - not Europe, the world, or the moon - it seems reasonable that he be judged in the context of his effect on the country, his driving.
This still leaves the question - why does America not more significantly factor into the liberal's assessment of Obama? If you don't value America then why do you care - and how relevant is your opinion on the matter? If you want America repainted, you basically want your own new country; yet, instead of building, fighting for, and inventing your own - you want to hijack America foundation and paint over qualities that many find to be her most unique and special.
Obama is the bastard driver who has his feet up on your desk while he informs you that your car's being repainted to match his own favorite color.
Unassuming, non-politically correct, honest, abrasive, non-apologetic, passionate, political rants, theories, opinions and commentary.

Removal from office is no longer enough.
Impeachment is no longer enough. Voting congress out of office is no longer enough. I want President Obama and the Democrats in congress charged and put on trial: on trial in front of the American people to answer for their law breaking and deliberate destruction of America's economy and security. No I will not list the specific crimes nor attempt to convince. If you don't understand. If you don't see. If you need convincing, beyond what you've witnessed from these criminals, then you are one of them; then you should probably be on trial too.
If it takes 50 years, I want these traitors to face trial and punishment. I want you fellow Americans to never forget what they have done; let's be sure to write about it, archive all of the deeds and lies, pass on to our children and grandchildren to pass on through America's future generations: that Barack Hussein Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Richard Dick Durbin, Claire McCaskill, Carl Levin, swift-boat John Kerry, Klansman Robert Byrd, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, and the rest, sought to destroy America and betray the American people. I want my great great grandchildren to know that Obama's great great grandchildren's great great grandfather, was the worst President and criminal in history. I want Harry Reid's name to forever be synonymous with treachery.
Whatever it takes, these criminal traitors must be brought to fair public trial and then executed once they are found guilty. I believe treason is still punishable by death.
No, impeachment is no longer a just recourse.

Questions Before Answers
I just have a few questions that I have to get out. Maybe you have some answers for them?
Why did Obama and Eric Holder decide to have the 911 trial in civil court?
Why did the secretary of defense Gates say "I'm not even going to go there," and also "I'm the last person that should be going down that road," when he was asked if Islam could have played any part in the Fort Hood Muslim terrorist attack?
Why has Obama not yet allowed the security council access to the Fort Hood report that was completed and submitted to the president weeks ago?
Why is health reform so urgent and why are the Democrats so drastically eager to get a bill passed?
Why are Navy Seals and other American soldiers being prosecuted for things as minor as allegedly slapping an evil murderous terrorist in the face?
Why did Obama go to the global warming (one world government) conference? In fact, why in the hell would he even consider the treaty being discussed at the conference: signing a treaty that gives up any of the State's own governing power; agreeing to billions of dollars in environmental retribution to other countries when America is undergoing an extreme financial crisis? Are you fucking kidding me?
Why would any President send troops into battle under rules of engagement that diminish their strength, safety and advantage over the enemy? Rules of engagement that already have gotten a score of soldiers killed? Why in the hell would any President do that?
Why are heads not rolling over the fort Hood terrorist attack and security breach? Nobody? Someone should have lost their god damn job for being so overly politically correct that many US citizens, soldiers even, on US soil even, on the grounds of our God Damn largest military base even? Navy Seals are being prosecuted for being a little rough (supposedly) with terrorist during capture, but not even an intern was fired over the Fort Hood massacre? Secretary Gates, you "can't go there" after 13 of your soldiers are shot and killed on one of your homeland bases? If you can't go there sir, you should go the hell home.

Answer for anyone who can't understand how people could be so impressed with Sarah Palin.
Let me solve a puzzle for all Democrats and many of you country club republicans, who cannot comprehend why so many are impressed with Sarah Palin. In fact, many of you are so unimpressed with Palin, you cannot even see how America's "obtuse," "evolution-denouncing," unsophisticated, "Joe six pack" types - could take Palin seriously. No worries - I have the answers that will bring an end to the boggling of your minds. We like Sarah Palin because she loves our country. To love the country means to appreciate America's culture, history, philosophy, personality and ideals. Palin understands American culture and likes it. The fact that she loves America and fights for it; that, she prefers to strengthen America's meaning and ideals rather than change them; makes us feel like she's on our side. Despite whatever level of sophistication she carries... even regardless of her ability to succeed on America's behalf, the fact that Palin fights for what most of us know to be American, is much to admire: more useful and relevant than impartial sophistication. No matter how eloquent the leader, he who does not share a people's concept of culture, will not share a personal steak in it's future. Without a deep rooted, fundamental understanding and love for America's traditions, history, and culture, a brilliant leader is as useful to the country as a brilliant prosecutor would be to their defendant's defense.
